The Funniest Blogger Category in The Annual Bloggers Bash Awards

The last time I’ve been this thrilled was back in the 1970s, when I was runner-up in the Butlins Funny Face Competition.
It’s still a few weeks away but I’ve picked out my outfit – Floor Length Gold Lame with Matching Heels and Clutch. I’ve also booked my flight, my hotel and packed my bag. I’ve been thinking about making a sandwich and freezing it but I’ve decided to splash out on a Pret A Manger Ready to Eat sandwich at the Airport.
I’ve also been working hard on my Acceptance Speech and got it down to a mere 47 minutes. Without giving too much away, I’ve modeled it on Gwyneth Paltrow’s 1999 Oscar speech. I’ll be thanking lots and lots of people (unlike Gwyneth, NOT Harvey Weinstein)…and there will be tears.
The Bash is on Saturday, May 19 – the same day as MegHar get hitched – but don’t even think about tuning in to The Royal Wedding. Instead, stand by your computer and wait for news all the way from L O N D O N. I plan to do a live Facetime, YouTube-y, Unboxing, Webcam, Webinar, Live Broadcast, Periscope Thingy of my Acceptance Speech – if I can figure out how the video on my iPhone works.
So now all I need to do now is win.
Whoever said, it’s not the winning but the taking part lied. It’s the winning.

The standard of blogs in all 9 categories is outstanding and unfortunately, the competition in the Funniest Blogger category is particularly stiff. Those pesky bloggers are a seriously funny bunch and, despite myself, I couldn’t help but LAUGH and LAUGH and LAUGH when I checked out the competition. Bastards!
Being a Scottish lass I’m a bit nervous heading for Big, Bad L O N D O N but I’ve been psyching myself up by listening to Paolo Nutini’s soulful These Streets. Paolo’s got me worried that might get homesick for the Auld Country, but, och, it’s only 36 hours.
