Yada. Yada. Yada – Peace and Goodwill to All Men is all very well, but what’s often overlooked at Christmas is that Gift Giving provides women with the perfect opportunity to improve their relationship and gently nudge (ok…downright shove) their partner towards NEW IMPROVED HABITS.
So following form my guide for men on How to buy HER an OMG Christmas Gift SHE’LL Love (rest assured, gals, you’re gonna get a whopper this Christmas) here we have
12 Christmas Gifts for HIM – That YOU Will Love (clever eh!)
Fancy Springtime in Paris?
Thinking it’s been ages since you spent some quality time together? Snap up a couple of cheap flights, sellotape the confirmation email around a bottle champagne – to be consumed on Christmas night – and hey presto, you’ve just arranged yourself a city break.
He can organise the hotel.
Would a regular date night be good for your relationship?
Buy him a gift voucher for that fancy new restaurant you’d like to try and a voucher for your local cinema or theatre.
Tah Dah – you’ve got yourself a date.
Or if that’s too pricey get a Firestick, a year’s subscription to Amazon Prime and phone in a curry.
Is he a workaholic?
He probably needs a hobby. Give him one for Christmas. Buy some planters and bulbs and get him to work in the garden. Or the latest Jamie Oliver cookbook and challenge him to cook Sunday Roast. Or buy any How-To book… Hang Wallpaper. Bake Bread. Trim a Bush. He’ll love it.
Or boring?
Does it feel like you never do anything fun together? Now’s your chance to remedy that… book a course to learn something you’ll both enjoy Sailing. Salsa. Skiing.
Is he piling on the pounds?
Get him a Fitbit or a gym membership and some fancy new trainers.
Unkempt?
Is his hair a mess? Has a grown a beard (who hasn’t) and it’s starting to look sorta… ZZ Top. Get your hands on a Men’s Grooming voucher for a local salon.
Are the Fashion Police On His Tail?
He’s not STILL wearing that maroon, nipped-in-the-waist leather jacket is he!
Well, it’s definitely time pick up THIS rather natty one from Reiss.
Hide the maroon in the back of the wardrobe and if he hasn’t noticed by February, then off to the charity shop it goes.
Shabby Shoes? Get him a pair of THESE über cool Belstaff Boots.
And don’t forget underwear makes an excellent stocking filler if his pants are looking a bit…ermmmm, tired.
Does He Smell Bad?
Are you fed up with him honking of David Beckham’s Homme? Start surreptitiously sniffing men that you come into contact with and when you come across something you like, ask what aftershave he’s wearing. Or take yourself off to the nearest department store and spend an hour or so sampling all the male smellies.
Tom Ford Portofino looks AND smells amazing.
Is he Gadget Man?
Contrary to the gift buying rules for men, it IS perfectly acceptable for a woman to surprise her partner on Christmas morning with an electrical item.
So if you’ve your heart set on that giant telly or a state-of-the-art George Foreman Grill or even that fancy new Dyson with all its colour-coordinated attachments – go on, buy it and wrap a giant ribbon around the box. Don’t feel guilty – he’ll love tinkering with it.
I’d draw the line at a Ladyshave.
Does he have a horrible commute and grumpy when he gets home?
Get him some of state-of-the-art headphone and a subscription Spotify or Audible (Click HERE for an excellent review).
Are you strapped for cash?
Frame up a photograph of you looking really rather lovely for his desk or bedside table. Christmas sorted for a tenner…and he won’t dare complain.
Contemplating a divorce in 2020?
Marks and Spencer have perfectly acceptable 5-pack of socks for £10.

Helpful list haha but I feel like it doesn’t quite work for my hubby. I have gotten him a Fitbit in the past (thankfully partially subsidized through a health program at work) and he used it for about a month then never touched it again. Then we gave it to his dad, but he couldn’t be bothered to help him set it up. I got him a robot vacuum this year instead.

Smelling men could spell trouble …but at my age I think I will get away with it. If you see a woman siddling up to your man in Cambridge later today it is only me looking for the perfect smell. Haaaha! Love this post and your humour mixed in with some good Ideas.
