3 MINUTE READ
Since I started blogging a few people have asked me…so how do you make money blogging? To which, I smile knowingly, and whisper…errrrrmm, I don’t.
Truth is I do it for the love of writing and in the hope of giving someone (mainly me) a chuckle – awww nice.
But hey, some people (average age c. 19 1/2) do make actual money, lots of it, blogging – and I keep stumbling across their Sponsored Posts, and it makes me feel…well jealous. You know the sort of thing…the young, pouty fashion blogger, with a fluffy dog, who get paid, yes paid, to wear the latest Christian Dior. Or the gorgeous lifestyle blogger, whose gorgeous lounge has been given a gorgeous makeover, sponsored by a gorgeous print company. Or the six-pack-packed, young clean eating people, who can blag enough clean food to last a lifetime and some nice pans, to boot.
I suppose it’s only fair that gorgeous young, pouty people, with six packs and fluffy dogs (and thousands, make that, millions, of followers) get paid to have nice things, however, it’s got me thinking what I could write sponsored posts about.
So, just in case there are any marketing moguls reading this, I’ve made a list (it’s not exhaustive) of the things I’d be happy to write about…obviously I’d be up for having a makeover of my flat, especially the kitchen, or being asked to wear anything gorgeous would be fine, Chanel’s S/S collection would be especially welcome, thank you. And then there’s eating almost anything (especially scones in the morning and pizza in the evening), drinking anything, apart from Irn-Bru, American Cream Soda (belch), Guinness and Cointreau, having my windows washed monthly, test driving a convertible car all summer (any model is fine), dance lessons, travelling anywhere (apart from war-torn places, sorry), any makeup, yoga classes and some nice new yoga clothes, bingo-wing reduction (both arms please), some matching underwear, someone who will deliver me healthy, low fat meals, which taste like high fat meals, every time I am hungry and will continue to do so until I reach 9 stone 4, anything that will control difficult hair and a vineyard tour, ideally in France.
Some things I am not so keen on (but would probably still write about, if the price was right) are… musicals (especially Lloyd Webber ones); watching live rugby on a cold, wet evening; watching live football regardless of the time of day or weather; going to a really late nightclub; attending a Duran Duran concert, watching anything with Jimmy Carr in it…ermmmm, that’s about it really, anything else will be considered.
